And the No. 1 seeds are ... Staying the same

Each week until Selection Sunday, college basketball writer Marcus Jackson will give us his top four seeds for each region. Here’s the latest look:

EAST
1. Syracuse (ACC)
— Orange needed some magic to pull off win at buzzer last week, but would be a No. 1 regardless.
2. Duke (ACC)
3. Villanova (Big East)
4. St. Louis (Atlantic 10)

MIDWEST
1. Wichita State (Missouri Valley)
— There’s a serious debate as to whether the unbeaten Shockers deserve a No. 1, but without a blemish, they’ll have earned it.
2. Kansas (Big 12)
3. Michigan State (Big Ten)
4. Iowa (Big Ten)

SOUTH
1. Florida (SEC)
2. Cincinnati (American)
3. Wisconsin (Big Ten)
— After a rough stretch, Bo Ryan’s Badgers appear to have found their stride and freshman forward Nigel Hayes has been a big reason.
4. Texas (Big 12)

WEST
1. Arizona (Pac-12)
2. San Diego State (Mountain West)
3. Creighton (Big East)
— We’re a month away from the NCAA tourney and there’s little doubt that Doug McDermott will be the National Player of the Year.
4. Iowa State (Big 12)
