Black misses USA Basketball cut

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Leron Black’s bid to make USA Basketball’s U18 team that will compete at the FIBA Americas championships has come to an end.

The incoming Illinois freshman was one of 24 players invited to the USA Basketball training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, but he was not among the 15 players named as finalist for the 12 spots on Thursday morning.

USA Basketball’s Twitter account congratulated the finalists this morning.

UI recruiting target Jalen Brunson was among the 15 players named.

Antonio Blaekeny, Isaiah Briscoe, Jaylen Brown, Chase Jeter, Stanley Johnson, Tyus Jones, Luke Kennard, Tyler Lydon, Allonzo Trier, Myles Turner, Tom Welsh, Justise Winslow, Stephen Zimmerman and Dwayne Morgan are the finalists.

Maybe the kid isn't as great as Gazoo sports hypes him to be.

moonCRAP! You are about a total fool!! About 1 out of 500 of your posts make any sense at all. Why don't you drop your sickening opinion about Tate and get a life!!!

Leron Black is the 2014 Tennessee Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year. He averaged over 20 pts and 13 rebounds a game on a team that was 30-3, rated at one time in the top 10 Nationally and had at least 4 D-1 players! He IS a player, or he would not even get the invite to try out for this team.

Tell someone who cares about your idiotic opinions of Tate's other words....only YOU! ILLINI fans don't care what you think!!!
