Nonconference hoops schedule complete

Through its Twitter account on Friday, the Illinois basketball program released its complete non conference schedule, highlighted by match ups against Miami, Villanova, Oregon, Missouri and the Las Vegas Invitational. Here’s a look at the full pre-Big Ten slate.

Nov. 7 Qunicy (Exhibition)

Nov. 14 Georgia Southern

Nov. 16 Coppin State

Nov. 21 Austin Peay

Nov. 24 Brown

Nov. 27 Indiana State (Las Vegas)

Nov. 28 Memphis/Baylor (Las Vegas)

Dec. 2 at Miami

Dec. 6 American

Dec. 9 vs. Villanova (Madison Square Garden)

Dec. 13 vs. Oregon (United Center)

Dec. 17 Hampton

Dec. 20 vs. Missouri (St. Louis)

Dec. 27 Kennesaw State

The Big Ten schedule will be released next month. Here’s what is known right now about the conference match ups:

Illinois will play Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern and Purdue twice each; once at home and once on the road.

The Illini will play road games at Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Indiana, Maryland, Penn State and Rutgers will visit State Farm Center during the 18-game slate.

Another (not so) great home nonconference schedule.  Mr. Thomas should be ashamed to charge fans to watch such a poor collection of teams.  I understand that the point is to buy wins for his new hand-chosen coach, but don't long standing fans deserve a better product for their ticket dollar?
