Player of the game

Iowa's Tyler Cook

A double-double for the St. Louis native — 21 points and 13 rebounds — shined a light on two key struggles for Illinois on Thursday night. The Illini struggled to rebound or keep Cook from doing whatever he wanted on the block.

Cook wasn't the only Hawkeyes big man with a double-double. Luke Garza put up 19 points and 11 rebounds of his own as Iowa crushed the Illini on the boards with a 45-26 advantage.

Bench

Illinois: B+

Iowa: D

In a matchup of two teams that aren't shy about using their depth, Illinois proved to be more productive when it went to its bench. Aaron Jordan knocking down four three-pointers didn't hurt.

Iowa: C+

Two teams entered winless in the Big Ten. Only one remains. The Illini now have sole possession of last place in the conference all to themselves after the overtime loss to the Hawkeyes and are done no favors by going back on the road next week.
