Beating the Centennial girls'' basketball team seems hard enough this season. Beating the Chargers on their own court might be impossible. The Chargers pounded crosstown rival Central 80-49 Saturday to extend their homecourt winning streak to 17 games. Ainsley Wellinghoff led the way with 22 points and seven rebounds, and Anne Parrett played a well-rounded game with 12 points, six assists and five steals. Tamara Butler chipped in 11 points, nine boards and four assists for Centennial (9-0, 5-0 Big 12), which won its 19th consecutive league game. Freshman Eunice Gill scored 15 points to lead the Maroons (4-7, 1-3), who were held to nine points in the fourth quarter. Allison Lindemann and Heather Overmyer each scored eight for the Maroons, who trailed 41-26 at halftime. * Danville 45, Urbana 37. The Vikings held the Tigers to single-digit scoring in three of the quarters and outscored them 16-7 in the final period. JaDawn Bryant led the way for Danville with 11 points, and Tiffani Bourn and Courtney Lillard each scored 10. Nicco Cooper led Urbana with 12 points, and Jackie Williams chipped in nine. * Mattoon 50, Rantoul 45. Cierra Bragg and Lindsey Miller each scored 10 points, but it wasn''t enough for the Eagles (0-9, 0-4), who were outscored 20-11 in the fourth quarter. A trio of Eagles scored six points each, but Rantoul was outscored 22-8 at the free throw line.
