ILLINOIS WRESTLING * Heffernan nominated. Illinois coach Jim Heffernan was nominated for the AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year Award. Heffernan is in his 11th season as an assistant wrestling coach for the Illini and his 13th with coach Mark Johnson. High schools and colleges nationwide were invited to nominate candidates for the award, which is designed to honor some of the unsung heroes of American team sports. Winners will be announced May 1.
