Happy 70th, Dick Butkus!

Illini Legends, Lists & Lore: Mike Gow

Mike Gow, one of Illinois football’s greatest defensive backs, celebrates his 60th birthday today. A letterman for coach Bob Blackman from 1972 to ’74, Gow came to Champaign-Urbana from Farmington, Mich. He was a three-time All-Big Ten selection on a team that included a number of outstanding players, including Lonnie Perrin, Revie Sorey, Dan Beaver, Tom Hicks and Scott Studwell. Gow is the vice president at Thomson Financial in Chicago. Gow’s Illini career, by the numbers:
