UI women's hoops recruits on way
6-foot-3 center, Shelby-Rising City (Neb.)
Of note: Ranked No. 4 center in her class by ESPN HoopGurlz. Among all seniors, ranked No. 27 by HoopGurlz and No. 43 by Blue Star.
Bollant’s comment: “Certainly one of the best 5s coming out in the country. We know she’s going to be an impact player for us. A tough kid, great hands, really can rebound, run the floor. Can do everything well, even step out and shoot the three. Great size, and (a) physical post player, which is something we really need to add to our program.”
5-foot-10 point guard, Homewood-Flossmoor
Of note: Ranked No. 19 point guard in her class and No. 81 among all seniors by ESPN HoopGurlz.
Bollant’s comment: “One of the best guards in the state. I don’t know if there’s anybody in the state that’s better at getting to the rim than Amarah. She can get to the rim. She can finish. She’s a 5-10 point guard and can play the 2 as well. And she’s got some toughness to her. She’s just a gritty kid. She plays really hard, practices really hard.”
5-foot-7 guard, Minden (Neb.)
Of note: Ranked No. 18 among guards in her class by ESPN HoopGurlz.
Bollant’s comment: “Is as good a three-point shooter as there is in the country. Certainly was in the top two guards that I saw all summer. I think I saw eight different games where she made five threes, either in high school or AAU, so she can really shoot the basketball, and shoot it from 25, 27 feet with ease. A lot of shooters are a step slow. She’s not slow. She’s got really good feet.”
