UI coach helping national team

Jillian Ellis, Illinois' soccer coach, will assist the Under-21 Women's National Soccer Team, which will compete beginning Friday in an international tournament in Munich, Germany.

Germany, Sweden and Finland also participating. The U.S. squad is coached by Lauren Gregg.

"It's a great privilege to have this opportunity to work with the national team program again," Ellis said.

Ellis recently returned from Orlando, Fla., where she assisted the U.S. Under-16 National Team.

Dixon's distinction.

UI sophomore Phaedra Dixon was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week after she won the all-around and the floor exercise with personal-best scores in a meet last week against 10th-ranked Minnesota.

Dixon also set a personal best in the vault with a 9.725.
