Hurless, Illini rewarded

Senior forward Tara Hurless was named an NSCAA/adidas second-team All-American for the second time in her career after leading the Illinois soccer team to a 16-6-2 record and berth in the Elite Eight.

Janet Rayfield''s Illini finished the season ranked 14th in the final NSCAA/adidas poll.

"It is a great accomplishment for this program to be recognized as one of the Top 15 programs in the country,"Rayfield said. "We continue to make strides, and whatever the rankings are we proved to ourselves in the NCAAtournament that we can compete with the best in the country.
