KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Coach Janet Rayfield’s Illinois soccer team was ranked 19th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s preseason poll that was released Tuesday.
The Illini finished 17-5-2 last season and were 19th in the final poll.
Illinois is scheduled to play No. 3 Wake Forest, No. 6 UCLA, No. 9 Penn State and No. 22 Virginia Tech this season,
National champion Stanford was No. 1 in the preseason poll.
