Soccer stays perfect in Big Ten

CHAMPAIGN — Freshman Taylore Peterson notched her second goal of the season, snapping a scoreless match in the second half and lifting Illinois to a 1-0 Big Ten victory against Ohio State.

Kassidy Brown and Nicole Breece assisted for the Illini, who improved to 5-3-1 and 2-0-0 in league play,

"A little bit different start than last year (0-2-1). If we could have this year's start and last year's finish, well, I don't think they would let you do that, but, we are certainly excited for the win tonight," Illini coach Janet Rayfield said. "That's a good Ohio State team, and it's good to get some wins in the Big Ten. I'm really proud of the way we played soccer tonight."
