CHAMPAIGN — The Illinois women’s swimming and diving team improved to 5-0 for the first time in 13 years Friday, beating Michigan State and Southern Illinois in the Splash Bash at the ARC Pool.
Corey Kasten claimed the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 6.19 seconds. Britni Fisher was third in 1-meter diving.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Illinois’ 400 freestyle relay team of Meghan Mason, Caitlin Conroy, Erin Lamb and Courtney Pope won the event and clinched the school’s swimming and diving victory against Toledo.
The Illini swimmers were clocked in 3 minutes, 32.65 seconds.

CHAMPAIGN — Right fielder Pete Cappetta went 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBI, leading Illinois to a 6-1 baseball victory against Western Michigan on Tuesday at Illinois Field.
