Hurdler Felicien wins

Illinois women's hurdler Perdita Felicien won a gold medal Friday in the Francophonie Games in Ottawa, Ontario. The junior-to-be finished first in the 100-meter hurdles finals in 12.92 seconds, 0.10 ahead of runner-up Patricia Buval of France.

Felicien, who represented Canada in the 2000 Olympics, earlier ran a 13.13 to place second in her semifinal heat.

The Francophonie Games are an international Olympic-style competition.
