UI spikers dropped from Top 25

The University of Illinois volleyball team has dropped out of the USA Today/AVCA Top 25 after going 1-1 last week.

The Illini, 11-5, had been ranked 25th. In the current poll, released today, Illinois is fourth among unranked teams receiving votes.

Only three Big Ten schools are ranked this week, the fewest for the conference this season. Penn State remains the unanimous No. 1 choice, while Wisconsin has moved up two spots to No. 8. Michigan State, 19th last week, dropped to 25th.

Despite defeating Illinois 3-0 on Saturday, Michigan was unable to crack the Top 25. The Wolverines are first among other teams receiving votes. Other Big Ten teams receiving votes were Minnesota and Ohio State.
