Illini volleyball ranked 20th

The Illini volleyball team dropped one spot, to No. 20, in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. The poll was released Monday afternoon.

Illinois (2-3), split a pair of matches last week against then-No. 15 Iowa State. The Cyclones (2-3) are ranked 18th this week.

Nebraska (5-0) remained No. 1, while fellow Big Ten member Penn State rose from fourth to No. 2. The Nittany Lions (5-0) defeated Stanford and then-No. 2 Texas last weekend in the Nike Big Four Volleyball Classic at State College, Pa.

The Illini, Nebraska and Penn State are among six Big Ten teams in this week's Top 25. The others are No. 11 Purdue, No. 14 Minnesota and No. 23 Michigan.
