Illini volleyball ranked 21st

The Illini dropped one spot, to No. 21, in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. The latest rankings were announced Monday afternoon.

Illinois (7-5) split its two matches since the last poll, being swept by then-No. 12 Minnesota and defeating Wisconsin in five sets. Both matches were at Huff Hall.

Penn State (12-1) moved up three spots to No. 1 after previously top-ranked UCLA lost to then-No. 2 Southern California, which two days later  was swept by Oregon. The Ducks (11-0) jumped six spots to No. 2.

The Big Ten has seven teams in the Top 25, with Penn State and Illinois joined by No. 6 Nebraska, No. 10 Minnesota, No. 13 Purdue, No. 22 Ohio State and No. 24 Michigan State.
