Volleyball ranked 25th
The Illini volleyball team extended its streak of weekly appearances in the national rankings to 70 in a row on Monday, though just barely.
Illinois (9-9) is No. 25 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. The Illini dropped three spots from the previous week after splitting two road matches, including a three-set loss to unranked Michigan and a five-set victory against then-No. 25 Michigan State.
Illinois' streak of AVCA Top 25 rankings began with the first regular-season poll in 2008.
Penn State (18-1) remained No. 1, receiving 55 of 60 first-place votes. The Nittany Lions and Illini are among six Big Ten teams in the latest Top 25. They're joined by No. 4 Nebraska, No. 10 Minnesota, No. 17 Purdue, and No. 20 Ohio State.
The Illini will face Nebraska (15-2) at 2 p.m. Sunday at Huff Hall.
