Volleyball up to No. 14

Illinois moved up four spots to No. 14 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. The weekly rankings were released Monday.

The Illini (3-2) split two matches last weekend against ranked opponents, sweeping then-No. 11 Iowa State on Sunday after losing one day earlier in four sets to then-No. 14 San Diego.

Illinois is 3-1 overall against Top 25 teams.

The Illini's current ranking is their highest since being voted No. 7 in the 2012 preseason poll.

Illinois is among nine Big Ten Conference teams in the current Top 25, a group led by No. 3 Penn State and No. 4 Minnesota.
