CHAMPAIGN — Amber Moore was planning to celebrate anyway Saturday. It was her birthday, after all.
But the now-23-year-old made sure the State Farm Center crowd got in on the action, too.
Moore hit six three-pointers en route to a team-high 26 points to power a 77-62 victory against Tennessee-Martin.
The win gives Illinois, which shot 55.2 percent, a 6-0 home record this season.
“We shot with confidence,” Illini coach Matt Bollant said. “We also had to get Amber a win on her birthday. Really glad she stepped up and played a complete game of basketball and helped us win that game.”
Moore also had seven rebounds for Illinois, which also got double-figure scoring efforts from Jacqui Grant (12), Sarah Hartwell (11) and Alexis Smith (11).
Smith handed out nine assists for the Illini.
