All-Star game features local hoopsters

PONTIAC — The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2018 boys' and girls' All-Star rosters on Friday and will feature 11 area players.

On the boys' end, Monticello's Calvin Fisher and Luke Stokowski join St. Joseph-Ogden's Jordan Brooks on the Class 1A/2A South roster. Former SJ-O coach Brian Brooks will serve as the team's head coach.

For the Class 3A/4A South team, Cory Noe and Noah Benedict represent Mahomet-Seymour alongside Unity's J.T. Wheeler, Champaign Central's A'Kieon Gill and Danville's Day'len Davis-Williams. Former M-S coach Chad Benedict will coach the team.

On the girls' side, Tuscola's Cassi Russo and Monticello's Zanna Myers were named to the Class 1A/2A South roster, while Danville's Mikala Hall will play on the Class 3A/4A South team.

The IBCA All-Star games will be played June 9 at Pontiac High School, with the 1A/2A girls kicking things off at noon.
