RANK, TEAM REC. PREV. COMMENT

1. St. Joseph-Ogden 32-4 (1): Though the Spartans were stunned by Williamsville in a Class 2A super-sectional, they still made Randy Wolken's final season as coach one to remember.

2. Tuscola 29-8 (2): Coach Lenny Sementi's Warriors finished just a win short of a sectional championship, falling for only the second time over their final 17 games.

3. Villa Grove 26-8 (3): The Blue Devils were stunned in their Class 1A postseason opener but will return a majority of their roster while maintaining lofty goals.

4. Argenta-Oreana 20-9 (10): Coach Angie Ridgeway's Bombers recorded the best finish among local programs, placing third in the Class 1A state tournament to cap a thrilling run.

5. Salt Fork 23-6 (4): The Storm was stymied by Argenta-Oreana in a sectional semifinal game, marking an abrupt end to an otherwise successful campaign for Salt Fork.

6. LeRoy 21-12 (5): Some early struggles eventually gave way to increased winning for coach Doug Hageman's group, which also couldn't find a way past Argenta-Oreana.

7. Fisher 22-8 (6): Coach Ken Ingold's Bunnies could not find any offense in a Class 1A postseason defeat to Heyworth, a Heart of Illinois Conference opponent.

8. GCMS 17-7 (7): The Falcons' final four outings were decided by no more than two runs apiece, with a 2-1 defeat to Olympia in a Class 2A regional final last on that list.

9. Mahomet-Seymour 16-15 (—): Coach Lisa Ayers' Bulldogs surprised some with a Class 3A regional plaque and return plenty of key pieces to repeat that feat in 2019.

10. Watseka 18-7 (8): The Warriors entered the Class 2A postseason on a hot streak, but were stifled by Prairie Central in their opening bout.
