Why he made it: Our Player of the Year put together a stout singles campaign that abruptly ended before the state tournament due to illness. Baillon won the Class 1A Champaign Central Sectional singles crown while compiling a 14-2 record in the No. 1 slot, in addition to carrying a 6-1 No. 1 doubles mark with J.P. Ridge.

Why he made it: Donnini's first season nearly resulted in a sectional singles victory, but was still plenty strong. He collected 10 triumphs out of the Illineks' No. 1 role and grabbed one win at the Class 1A state tournament.

Bill Layton | Urbana, Fr.

Why he made it: Another newcomer on the area scene, Layton cruised to third place in sectional singles competition and pulled in two victories at the Class 1A state showcase. Overall, he finished 16-7 at No. 3 singles as well as 10-3 with Dylan Patel at No. 3 doubles.

Why he made it: The Vikings' No. 2 singles athlete sprinted to a 13-2 ledger while playing on his own, and he had even more success teaming with fellow senior Ryan Vadeboncoeur, as those two climbed to second place in at the Big 12 tournament.
