Wednesday's prep highlights: Bowie wins back-to-back

In boys' golf

At Bloomington. Prairie Central beat out the only other area team — Champaign Central — by 20 strokes with a team score of 331, good for 10th place in the Mia Gordon Raider Classic at The Den. Still, Central's Justin McCoy shot 73 and finished in third place, one shot behind both leaders. Hawks senior Josh Kilcullen tied for 13th overall with a 78.

At Gibson City. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley shot a season-low team score of 169, paced by senior Connor Birky's 40, and moved to 3-0 on the year with an seven-stroke victory over Blue Ridge (176) and LeRoy (191) in a home match.

At Oakwood. While Logan Richardson's 37 made him a medalist, Tri-County fell to 1-1 on the season after topping Oblong (184) but coming up short against Paris (172) with a team score of 177 in a match at Norton Knolls Golf Course.

At Sheldon. Lukas Ball collected medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 38, guiding Watseka to a victory (168) over Milford (177). Ryan Tilstra's team-best 45 paced third-place Iroquois West, while Cissna Park's top three golfers all shot 49.

In girls' golf

At Cissna Park. Watseka's Natalie Schroeder garnered medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 44, which paced the Warriors to a 219 team score and a 32-stroke victory over Iroquois West (251) and Milford (258).

At Normal. For a second straight day, Alaina Bowie took medalist honors to pace St. Thomas More to victory with a team score of 166 to beat out Mahomet-Seymour (216) and Normal West (221) at Ironwood Golf Course.
