In volleyball

Argenta-Oreana 2, Meridian 1. Camilyn Newbanks finished with 30 assists, nine digs, three kills and three blocks in a 25-19, 18-25, 25-12 victory for the Bombers (6-2).

Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 2, Villa Grove 0. The Knights (2-1) got eight kills, six digs and four aces from Taylor Powell in their 25-19, 25-8 Little Okaw Valley Conference sweep. Maris Eversole had two aces for the Blue Devils (3-5).

Blue Ridge 2, DeLand-Weldon 0. Big numbers from Hannah Brackenhoff (30 digs) and Avery Fisher (20 assists) paced Blue Ridge (9-2) in its 25-20, 25-16 sweep.

Cerro Gordo 2, Decatur Eisenhower 0. Ella Mann had 19 assists and three digs and Sydney Walker put up eight digs and seven kills for Cerro Gordo (9-1) in a 25-23, 25-14 sweep of the Panthers.

Cissna Park 2, Ridgeview 0. A double-double from Anna Jennings with 24 assists and 10 digs paced Cissna Park (5-2) in its 25-15, 25-29 win against Ridgeview.

Clifton Central 2, Iroquois West 0. Shelby Johnson had one ace, kill and dig in a 25-11, 25-21 loss for Iroquois West (0-7).

Clinton 2, Heyworth 1. Delaney Woodbury directed a balanced Clinton attack with 29 assists, as the Maroons (1-1) topped Heyworth 25-23, 16-25, 25-18.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 2, Arthur Okaw Christian 0. Kasie Anderson put up 10 kills and nine digs as the Buffaloes (1-2) got a 26-24, 25-16 sweep against AOC (1-1).

Heritage 2, Fisher 0. Heritage (7-2) picked up a 25-20, 25-17 sweep behind Gracyn Allen's 11 kills, eight digs and two aces. Shelbee Owens led the Bunnies (1-7) with 10 kills and three digs.

Milford 2, St. Anne 0. Milford got 15 assists and three aces from Kaylee Warren in its 25-10, 25-17 victory against St. Anne. Jakki Mowrey chipped in nine kills for the Bearcats (4-2).

Normal U-High 2, Centennial 0. Centennial dropped to 1-2 on the season with a 25-22, 25-19 loss to the Pioneers.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda 2, Watseka 0. PBL improved to 6-1 with a 25-20, 28-26 sweep. Mallory Drake had 10 digs and four kills for the Warriors (4-2).

St. Thomas More 2, Tri-Valley 1. Allie Trame and Kayla Brandon gave St. Thomas More a 1-2 punch in its attack with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, and the Sabers (4-0) rallied to beat Tri-Valley 22-25, 25-20, 25-23.

St. Joseph-Ogden 2, Teutopolis 0. Emory Ericksen and Lacey Kaiser put up six kills apiece as SJ-O (5-0) swept Teutopolis 25-23, 25-19.

Tri-County 2, Arcola 0. Tri-County (3-1) cruised to a 25-9, 25-10 victory behind Julia Robertson's 11 killsagainst the Purple Riders (1-3).

Unity 2, Tuscola 1. Emma Bleecher was a force at the net with eight kills and two blocks as Unity (4-0) put together a 25-19, 19-25, 25-20 win against Tuscola. Maddie Green led the Warriors (3-1) with 18 assists and 10 digs.

Urbana 2, Rantoul 0. Urbana won its first match of the season 25-19, 25-17 against Rantoul. Kaylyn Johnston had six assists, four aces and four kills for the Tigers (1-2), while Tanaya Young had six kills for the Eagles (0-2).

In boys' soccer

Blue Ridge 5, Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 0. Henry Mitchell finished with one goal and two assists in the shutout for Blue Ridge (4-4-1). ALAH goalkeeper Brandon Linstrom had 15 saves for the Knights (1-3-1).

Champaign Central 4, Mattoon 1. A hat trick from Reynaldo Zarco and a goal and two assists by Santiago Rodriguez paced Central (5-1) to its win against the Green Wave.

Danville First Baptist 4, Schlarman 0. Joel Menez scored a pair of second-half goals to complete his hat trick in First Baptist's shutout win against the Hilltoppers (0-4).

Iroquois West 6, Watseka 0. Another four-goal performance from Diego Camarena kept Iroquois West (5-0) unbeaten on the season in the win against Watseka (0-5), which got 15 saves from goalkeeper Ethan Keller.

Rantoul 4, Oakwood/Salt Fork 3. Three second-half goals, including two by Martin Francisco to wrap up a hat trick, gave Rantoul (1-2-1) enough cushion to hold off O/SF. Sam Howie had a goal and an assist for the Comets (1-6).

St. Joseph-Ogden 1, Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 1. Drew Reifsteck struck first for BHRA (3-0-1), but Kolton Batty had the answer for the Spartans (2-3-1) in the tie.

Uni High 6, Monticello 0 1. Lawrence Tarista scored a pair of goals in the big win for the Illineks (4-2-1). Jake Edmondson scored the lone goal for the Sages (1-5) in the first half.

Unity 8, Meridian 1. Alex Stahl and Chase Fincham scored two goals apiece in the blowout win for the Rockets (5-1).

In boys' golf

At Danville. Westville's Nick Pinter earned medalist honors with a 34, but Schlarman won the three-team meet at Danville Country Club against the Tigers and Cissna Park. Gabe Huddleston paced the Hilltoppers with a 41.

At Fairbury. Josh Kilcullen shot a 37 to take co-medalist honors and lead Prairie Central past Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at Indian Creek Golf & Country Club. Connor Birky also shot 37 for the Falcons, who dropped their first match of the season.

At Saybrook. Ridgeview shot 259 as a team to finish third to Roanoke-Benson and Eureka in a three-team meet at Indian Springs Golf Course. Allan Kindred paced the Mustangs with a 44.

At Villa Grove. Villa Grove/Heritage's Tristan Harrison earned co-medalist honors with a 40 to lead the Blue Devils past Arcola/ALAH and Tri-County at Tri-City Country Club. The Titans' Logan Richardson shared top honors with Harrison.

In girls' golf

At Normal. St. Thomas More's Alaina Bowie fired a 1-under 71 to win the U-High Girls Classic by one stroke and help the Sabers to a third-place team finish in the 19-team tournament.

At Pontiac. Monticello tied for third with a 69 — the highest finish for an area team — at the Pontiac Lady Indians Scramble at Pontiac Elks Lodge and Golf Course. Prairie Central finished sixth, Watseka tied for seventh and Iroquois West placed 11th.

In girls' tennis

At Champaign. Centennial put together an 8-1 win against Urbana, as Cayla Risinger (6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles) and Aviv Sagiv (6-1, 6-0 at No. 5) both lost just a single game for the Chargers.

At Normal. Emma Crawford won 6-3, 4-6 (10-6) at No. 3 singles and Chikako Barnes won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 6 singles, but Champaign Central lost 7-2 to Normal Community.

In girls' swimming

At Normal. Centennial went 1-2 in 1-meter diving with Emme Pianfetti scoring 226.85 for the win ahead of teammate Hannah Hong's 202.90 in a three-team meet with Normal West and Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin.

At Stanford. Uni High won seven of 12 events to beat Olympia 100-70. Reed Broaders won the 200 individual medley (2:23.17) and 100 backstroke (1:02.42) and also swam on two winning relays for the Illineks.
