N-G football Top 10: Sept. 4, 2018

Some shuffling was required in preps coordinator COLIN LIKAS' latest rankings despite each team posting a Week 2 win:

1. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, 2-0 (1)

Falcons' first HOIC Large test went well with a thumping of Eureka. Heyworth comes to Gibson City next.

2. Tuscola, 2-0 (2)

Warriors have yet to allow a point in two games. That will be tested in a CIC opener against Central A&M.

3. Monticello, 2-0 (3)

Sages playing as well as anyone in area, posting 103 points already. They'll visit St. Thomas More in Week 3.

4. Argenta-Oreana, 2-0 (5)

Bombers deserve a move up after impressive offensive showings so far. Oakwood offers A-O a road test.

5. St. Joseph-Ogden, 2-0 (4)

Spartans' defense has permitted just 15 points. Bloomington Central Catholic looks to flip that script this week.

6. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, 2-0 (6)

Lightning delay couldn't stop Blue Devils from dropping Momence. Next foe, HASAAP, coming off a victory.

7. Fisher, 2-0 (8)

Bunnies snagged critical triumph versus Tremont. A jaunt to Tri-Valley poses an entirely different challenge.

8. Mahomet-Seymour, 1-1 (9)

Bulldogs took care of business with Charleston. Mascoutah in Week 3 last non-Apollo game for some time.

9. Danville, 1-1 (7)

Vikings fall a bit after eking out win over Urbana. Big 12 slate really ramps up with Normal West coming in.

10. Salt Fork, 2-0 (10)

Storm squeezed by tough Watseka to gain momentum for road tilt against Georgetown-Ridge Farm next.
