N-G boys' soccer Top 10: Sept. 5, 2018

RK., TEAM    REC.    PREV.    COMMENT
1. Champaign Central    9-1    1    Maroons earned their seventh consecutive win Tuesday by dousing Danville, which followed victories over Uni High and STM.

2. Fisher/GCMS    9-0    3    Bunnies’ shutout streak ended against St. Joseph-Ogden, though a win still resulted. ALAH on Thursday is the next threat.

3. Uni High    6-2-2    5    Illineks looked strong against bigger foe in Urbana, posting a shutout success Tuesday. Teutopolis arrives for a Thursday visit.

4. Urbana    3-2    4    Rebuilding Tigers could not find their footing against Uni High. Trips to Peoria Manual and Morton Tournament are on Urbana’s radar.

5. Unity    6-1    9    Rockets on a five-match win streak before Thursday’s home bout with Judah Christian and Saturday’s home match against BHRA.

6. Iroquois West    5-0    6    Raiders have some steady competition this week with Beecher, St. Joseph-Ogden, BCC and Oakwood/Salt Fork on the docket.

7. St. Thomas More    5-3-1    2    Some lopsided defeats have Sabers stumbling in these rankings. They’ll try to rebound Thursday in trip to Cornerstone.

8. BHRA    5-0-1    7    Blue Devils rolling along outside draw with St. Joseph-Ogden. They’ll hit up Georgetown-RF/Westville and Unity before week is out.

9. Danville    3-3    8    Though Vikings slipped against Central, they’re still off to a fine start. A Saturday tilt with Jacksonville should push Danville.

10. Hoopeston Area    4-0    10    Cornjerkers remained undefeated after dumping Georgetown-RF/Westville. Program will host Cornjerker Classic this weekend.
