Wednesday's prep highlights: Blue Ridge coach gets 200th win

In volleyball

St. Joseph-Ogden 2, Danville 0. The Spartans (12-2) collected a 25-21, 25-23 road victory over the Vikings (5-6). Kelsey Wendall had 10 kills for Danville. Jenna Albrecht, Emory Ericksen and Payton Vallee each had four kills for SJ-O.

St. Anne 2, Iroquois West 0. The Raiders suffered a 25-15, 25-16 loss to the Cardinals in St. Anne. Maddy Trammell posted two aces, two kills and one dig in the loss for IW (0-11).

In boys' soccer

Blue Ridge 3, Warrensburg-Latham 2. Marty Price collected his 200th win thanks to two goals from Colin Magenheimer and another tally from Troyer Gilman for Blue Ridge (5-7-1) in a home victory.

In boys' golf

At Savoy. Thomas Green's 40 and Damian McMullen's 44 proved to be the key scores in Centennial's dual match victory over Monticello. The Chargers won with a team score of 181, compared to 204 for the Sages in a match played at the University of Illinois Orange Course in Savoy.

At Danville. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin won its match over Mahomet-Seymour and Danville by a 185-207-230 margin. Kevin Clapp and Isaiah Lusk both stood out for the Blue Devils with matching scores of 39 on the par-36 course at Harrison Park in Danville. Urbana, which had players competing as individuals, saw Matt Horner and Masato Keeley net a 44 and 47, respectively. Jaren Hotsinpiller led the Vikings with a 47, while Jameson Drinkwalter produced a 49 to become the Bulldogs' top scorer.

At Mattoon. Rantoul/Paxton-Buckley-Loda edged Mattoon and Champaign Central in a tri-match on the front nine at Mattoon Country Club by a score of 166-171-172. Chase Moore led Rantoul/PBL with a 37, Tanner Romine produced a 38 for Mattoon and Justin McCoy registered a 39 for Central.

At Farmer City. Iroquois West took the top prize at the Blue Ridge Invitational hosted by Woodlawn Country Club with a team score of 195 followed by Gibson City-Melvin Sibley (200) and Ridgeview (200). The Raiders were led by a 44 from Ryan Tilstra. Allan Kindred from Ridgeview collected individual medalist honors with a 38.

In girls' golf

At LeRoy. Alaina Bowie and Mia Kirby produced a 41 and 43, respectively, to lead St. Thomas More to a 180-245 victory at LeRoy.

At Savoy. Centennial won its dual match against Mahomet-Seymour, which was played on the back nine of the UI Blue Course. Led by Claire Sherrick's 44 and Addie Archer's 51, the Chargers outscored the Bulldogs, 201-241.

In girls' tennis

At Champaign. Champaign Central took down St. Thomas More in a match played at Lindsay Courts 9-0. The Maroons received points in singles from Olivia Gunn, Ally Bergh, Emma Crawford, Sydney Cochrane, Erin Durukan and Chikako Barnes, all of whom won in straight sets.

At Mattoon. Centennial won four matches and scored victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to secure a 6-3 victory at Mattoon. Gurveena Singh, Angela Xu, Cayla Risinger and Aviv Sagiv accounted for the Chargers' points in singles.

In girls' swimming

At Urbana. Champaign Central won its dual meet over Unit 4 rival Urbana with 135 points, thanks to first-place finishes in all 12 of the contested events at Urbana's Indoor Aquatic Center. The Tigers finished with 44 points. Ally Miller won the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.04), along with the 500 freestyle (5:44.91). River Jones collected top honors for the Maroons in the 200-yard individual medley (2:29.98) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.36). Maddie Hieser claimed the 50 freestyle (26.10 seconds) and 100 butterfly (1:07.72). Jones, Hieser and Miller also combined with Liara Aber to win the 200 medley relay (2:06.32). Other individual winners for Central included Morgan McKee (100 freestyle, 1:02.10), Alexia Popa (100 backstroke, 1:13.58) and Caroline Dickerson (191.10 points, 1-meter diving).
