Preps coordinator COLIN LIKAS breaks down the final top 10 area rankings for the 2018 boys' soccer season:

1. Champaign Central, 25-1 (1)

Maroons tied for longest area postseason run, falling a goal short versus Springfield in a Class 2A sectional final.

2. Mahomet-Seymour, 15-4-5 (2)

Bulldogs couldn't get past Mattoon in teams' third meeting — in a regional final — but still soared past many locals.

3. Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, 17-3-1 (6)

Bunnies saw historic campaign end in regional semifinals, but that doesn't entirely undo impressive slate of wins.

4. Uni High, 15-6-3 (3)

Illineks racked up another regional championship while defeating or staying competitive with some of state's best.

5. Judah Christian, 12-8-2 (4)

Tribe went on great run in Class 1A postseason, finishing in sectional final, and return many kids for 2019.

6. St. Thomas More, 13-7-4 (4)

Sabers weren't quite as stout as in recent years, but still gave majority of area foes run for their money.

7. Hoopeston Area, 15-5-1 (8)

Cornjerkers stunned BHRA in an extra-time sectional semifinal and started this season with nine consecutive triumphs.

8. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, 15-3-1 (10)

Blue Devils were mostly dominant in conference action and beyond before falling in penalty kicks in regional semifinal.

9. Unity, 12-7-1 (5)

Rockets nearly pulled off their first-ever regional title win; semifinal success over Fisher/GCMS was obvious highlight.

10. Iroquois West, 15-6 (9)

Raiders didn't play the most dominant schedule, but took care of business nonetheless en route to regional semifinal.
