Taylor lifts Salt Fork to win

GEORGETOWN – Caleb Taylor went 3 for 4 to lead Salt Fork to a 12-2 prep baseball victory against Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Wed-nesday.

Taylor added two RBI. The Storm's 13-hit attack also included three hits and two RBI from Justin Learnard. Bryn Eakle and Kyle Koerting added two hits and two RBI for the Storm.

Cerro Gordo 16, Tri-County 1. Host Cerro Gordo (4-1) pounded out 13 hits and got a five-hitter from Gavin McCoy.

Drew Minton clubbed a grand slam to lead the Broncos' of-fense. He finished with five RBI.

Nathan Mullins was 2 for 2 with a homer and three RBI. Clay Godier and Nash Ramage added two hits.

McCoy struck out eight and allowed an earned run. He also had two hits.

Cary Hawkins, Justin Massie, Jacob Massie, Austin Locke and Cody Meyer each had a hit for Tri-County.

In softball:

Salt Fork 9, G-RF 0. Mallory Weber went 4 for 4 to spark host Salt Fork (2-2).

Weber had a homer and two doubles while driving in three runs.

Yanci Homan went 3 for 4 and collected two RBI.

Mackenzie Stutsman pitched a complete-game two-hitter for the Storm.
