LeRoy 5, Monticello 2. CALEB GRAYBEAL pitched a three-hitter and ERIC STEFFEN had two hits and two steals to lead the Panthers.

B-H 2, Seeger, Ind. 1. Winning pitcher Stephen Krout struck out 10 for visiting Bismarck-Henning. Tyler McKenzie and Stephen Head each doubled, and Krout added two singles.

Meridian 10, Arthur-Lovington 1. CALEB SCHROCK homered and ZACH RILEY had two hits in the Knights' loss.

St. Joseph-Ogden 13, Tri-Point 1. JAKE STEWART collected four hits and ZACH ADAMS struck out eight while picking up his first varsity win. BLAKE HOVELN and ANDREW QUEDNAU homered for the Spartans.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 15, Armstrong-Potomac 3. JAKE JOHNSON had three hits and three RBI in the win.

St. Thomas More 3, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 2. JULIAN BOSWELL (11) and AARON PINKERTON (two) combined to strike out 13 for the Sabers.

Blue Ridge 9, Clinton 6. JACK PLUNK and CONNER BUILTA had two hits and NICK BUILTA drove in a pair as the Knights rallied with eight runs in the top of the seventh.

Charleston 9, Urbana 8. KYLE ROSS went 3 for 3 with three RBI against Charleston, which scored twice in the bottom of the seventh. Urbana's BRIAN SUMMERS homered.

Unity 5, Rantoul 0. Tyler Bialeschki pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts for the Rockets (12-2). Austin Fender, Mitch Negangard and Caleb Rice each had two hits.

Hoopeston Area 10, East Central 0. MARVIN CRAWFORD struck out 14 while tossing a one-hitter.

Centennial 14, Effingham St. Anthony 2. TYLER NAMOFF went 3 for 3 with four RBI and TREY BALLARD added two hits and three RBI for the Chargers (7-4). Winning pitcher GRIFFIN WARMBIER struck out seven.


Decatur MacArthur 2, Rantoul 0. Rantoul pitcher JAMIE HEDRICK allowed two hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Tuscola 13, Urbana 5. SAM LEDBETTER had three hits, drove in five runs and stole home for the Warriors. KELSEY CLELAND (three hits) and SAM KOHLBECKER (two hits) also played key roles.

Urbana's ALEXANDRA HAMMOND had a two-run single.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda 17, St. Thomas More 16. The Panthers took advantage of 14 walks and nine STM errors. BROOKE ALLEN had two hits for PBL. TAYLOR DURING and BROOKE SCHMIDT had three hits for the Sabers.

Danville 22, Westville 4. CASEY CROMWELL and JORDAN OGLE homered, and MICHALEEN FORMAN went 4 for 4 with three RBI to lead the Vikings.

TAYLOR CEADER homered for Westville.

Unity 2, Oakwood 0. JESSICA ADAMS fired a two-hitter while MEGAN SWIGART and LACY PRUITT collected two hits apiece to spark the Rockets.

Clinton 13, Ridgeview 3. EMILY KROEGER, MORGAN HICKMAN (three RBI) and MACKENSIE HAWES had three hits apiece for the Maroons. Winning pitcher BAILEY WALKER scattered four hits.

Watseka 8, Iroquois West 7. The Warriors won their fourth straight behind three hits from BRITTANY WILLIAMS. DEVIN CURRY had two hits, including a homer, and knocked in a pair. KAITY JOHNSON added two hits.

Mahomet-Seymour 4, Prairie Central 3. KRISTEN BELYEA's two-out double in the bottom of the seventh drove in the winning run. ALISON TARRANT slugged a two-run homer for the Bulldogs in the sixth to get within 3-2.

Girls' soccer

Urbana 1, Champaign Central 1. Urbana's NICOLE SANDERS scored in the first half and Central's SARAH KRESCA countered in the second half. Urbana keeper CHRISTIANA STARK made four saves.

Springfield 2, Danville 0. Danville keeper KIM YOUHAS made 23 saves.

First Baptist 2, Normal Calvary Christian 0. JESSICA GREER and ASHLEY GREAZER scored for First Baptist.

Mahomet-Seymour 5, Bloomington Central Catholic 0. ALYSSA DROLLINGER and SARAH GARROW scored twice for the Bulldogs (5-2-1).

Decatur Lutheran 4, Judah Christian 0. ERIN HUGGETT made nine saves for the Tribe.

Normal Community 4, Centennial 2. DAGNY OLSON had a pair of unassisted goals in the first half for the Chargers, but the Ironmen scored twice late in the second half.

Urbana Uni 6, Monticello 0. SOPHIE WIESMAN-FLOYD had three goals and ABIGAIL RADNITZER two for the Illineks.

Boys' tennis

At Champaign. St. Thomas More defeated Urbana 6-3 behind singles wins from TRAVIS TRESSLER (No. 1), BRIAN FALLON (No. 2), NATHANIEL THOMAS (No. 3) and HAK SOO LEE (No. 4).

At Champaign. AUSTIN ATEN and KENNETH YUN posted three-set victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, to lead Champaign Central past Normal Community 5-4.

Track & field

At Champaign. THOMAS JEAN (110-meter hurdles), ALEX ARTEAGA (300 hurdles, pole vault), KYLE DYKE (high jump), ZEKE ELKINS (400) and COLE JOHNSON (800) posted individual victories as the St. Joseph-Ogden boys won the St. Thomas More Invitational. JUD WIENKE of runner-up Tuscola captured the shot put and the discus.

In the girls' meet, KAITLIN KNOWLES won the 100 and the 400 to propel the Sabers to the team crown. Urbana Uni's EMMA HOYER (discus, shot put) and Argenta-Oreana's KANDIE BLOCH (100 hurdles, high jump) were double winners.
