In softball

Heritage 5, Fisher 2. Hilary Smith struck out 10 for the visiting Hawks, who got three hits from Miranda Pruitt and two hits from Micaela Childress.

The Bunnies were led by Kalli Gosser, who had two hits and scored a run.

Dani Stigers homered for Heritage.

M-S 7, Villa Grove 0. Alison Tarrant fanned 14 for visiting Mahomet-Seymour, which received three hits and three RBI from Jessica Roberts and two hits from Ally Thornton.

Lizzy Smith struck out seven for the Blue Devils, who got two hits from Katie Douglas.

LeRoy 13, Shiloh 0. Winning pitcher Stephanie Hintz and catcher Ashley Walker each tripled for the visiting Panthers.

SJ-0 26, Watseka 1. Stephanie Canfield had four hits to lead visiting St. Joseph-Ogden, which received two hits apiece from Shelby Franzen and Abby Immke. Franzen and Immke each homered for the second-ranked Spartans, who collected 17 hits.

Hayley Gray, Mariah Carroll and Kat Grimes each had a hit for the Warriors.

Watseka's Taylor Bauer left the game after the first inning after being struck on her pitching hand by a line drive.

Arcola 3, Unity 0. Laynee Clark had three hits, two runs and an RBI for the host Purple Riders, who got two hits and one run from Taylor Edwards. Edwards struck out seven.

The Rockets received two hits from Christy Lannon.

BCC 3, GCMS 1. Jackie Freehill had two hits for visiting Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.

Falcons pitcher Regan Romshek was the hard-luck loser in a duel with Bloomington Central Catholic's Megan O'Donnell.

STM 8, Hoopeston Area 5. Visiting St. Thomas More tallied nine hits against the Cornjerkers.

In baseball

Watseka 6, SJ-O 3. Austin Hasselbring drove in two runs and Brock Myers went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the host Warriors.

Jake Stewart went 2 for 2 for the Spartans.

Winning pitcher Keanon LaVoie scattered five hits in seven innings.

Schlarman 14, CPCI 0. Lucas Spezia and Alec Neal each went 3 for 3 with four RBI for the host Hilltoppers, who got four RBI from Dalton Dieu.

LeRoy 8, East Central 6. Matt Hamilton homered for the visiting Panthers.

Clifton Central 4, IW 2. Kyle Pool struck out nine for visiting Iroquois West in his complete-game loss. Pool allowed three hits in six innings.

M-S 18, Villa Grove 1. Tyler Francisco went 4 for 4 (two doubles) with four RBI for visiting Mahomet-Seymour. Brad Herrmann went 2 for 3 with seven RBI for the Bulldogs, who got three hits and three RBI from Cully Day. Winning pitcher Thomas Wolgemuth struck out nine.

Tuscola 6, Westville 4. Reliever Dillon Hoel struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning to save the game for the Warriors, who got two hits apiece from Hoel and Jimmy Knight.

The Tigers were led by Kyle Brazas, who had two hits and two RBI. Jon Hoepner added two hits and two runs for Westville.

Centennial 4 Effingham St. Anthony 1. Cully Wilson went 3 for 4 with three stolen bases for the visiting Chargers. Winning pitcher Ryan McCuskey allowed no earned runs and struck out four.

BCC 11, GCMS 1. Visiting Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, which scored its run in the first inning, did not record any hits against Bloomington Central Catholic.
