In baseball:

Centennial 7, Eureka (Mo.) 2. Josh Manolakes pitched six shutout innings and Drake Peratt went 3 for 4 with an RBI, leading the Chargers to victory at Port St. Lucie, Fla. Lucas Steffen contributed two hits and an RBI to the win.

Roxbury (Mass.) Latin Academy 7, Urbana 2. TANNER RUSSELL had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers in Orlando, Fla.

CPCI 8, Donovan 2. TREVOR FROEHLING and ALEX RABE each had two hits and three RBI for the host Timberwolves.

Danville 10, Mahomet-Seymour 5. CHUCKIE ROBINSON homered in the road win for the Vikings.

St. Joseph-Ogden 4, East Central 1. The visiting Spartans got three hits from ANDY BENSYL. JOHN ESSIG struck out 13 in the loss.

GCMS 7, Hoopeston Area 3. CHRIS WITTEMAN, JORDYN SCHULTZ and GABE KERBER each had two hits and an RBI for the host Falcons, who scored all their runs in the fifth inning.

ZACH KIRBY struck out seven and allowed one hit in five innings to improve to 2-0.

Stewardson-Strasburg 10, Arcola 0. Host Stew-Stras fashioned a five-inning perfect game in the win against the Purple Riders.

Iroquois West 12, Milford 1. KEATON ZIRKLE had three hits, four RBI and scored two runs for the visiting Raiders. KYLEN RUSHBROOK (three runs, RBI) also had three hits.

Brighton (Tenn.) 7, Champaign Central 4. KURTIS BROWN had two hits and two RBI for the visiting Maroons.

Salt Fork 5, LeRoy 1. The visiting Storm got three hits from DAVID SACRE and a homer from COLE SANFORD.

Westville 6, Paris 4. JEFFERY THOMPSON (two hits) and KYLE BRAZAS each drove in a pair of runs for host Westville.

In softball:

PBL 10, Fisher 0. Kirsten Schnabel and winning pitcher LIZ SATTERLEE (nine strikeouts) had two hits apiece to power the host Panthers.

Iroquois West 11, Milford 10. The Bearcats fell at home despite four hits and three RBI from ASHLEN PORTWOOD.

Tuscola 4, Heritage 0. ERIN WALKER fired a one-hit shutout, striking out 13 to lift the Warriors.

LEXI ROGERS (home run), SAM LEDBETTER (two hits) and AUDREY MOONEY all drove in runs for host Tuscola.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm 5, Paris 2. BRITTANY HAY had three hits and three stolen bases to lead the offensive attack for the host Buffaloes in their season opener.

In soccer:

Mattoon 6, Monticello 3. The host Sages (0-2), who led 2-1 at halftime, got goals from KIA SMITH, KELSEY KARBACH and AUDREY HEAD.
