Tuesday's prep highlights: Unity remains unbeaten

In baseball

Unity 11, Fisher 5. CONNER GRACE (two triples), SPENCER SHUMAKER (two RBI) and SETH TOLLIVER each had three hits for the unbeaten Rockets (6-0), who got three RBI apiece from AARON LARSON and AUSTIN FENDER. Larson also struck out 10 in the win.

Parker Perrero (three RBI) and Taw Fredrickson each had two hits for the Bunnies.

Monticello 9, Blue Ridge 1. JACOB WILLIAMS pitched one-hit baseball through four innings to lift the Sages.

Tuscola 3, South Piatt 1. Dillon Hoel went 2 for 3 with two RBI and T.J. Onstott had two hits for the Warriors, who got nine strikeouts from winning pitcher CAMERON WESTJOHN. ANDY WEBB had two hits in the loss.

Rantoul 1, A-P 0. In Normal, LUKE Pannbacker pitched a complete-game two-hitter for the Eagles, who got two hits from Marty Mennenga and an RBI from RYNE WORTHINGTON. Pannbacker had eight strikeouts and no walks.

Iroquois West 19, St. Thomas More 16. KYLE POOL hit two of Iroquois West's four home runs for the Raiders. Pool had five RBI, KEATON Zirkle had four and TJ Foulks and HENRY Gerritson each added three. STORM JOOP hit two grand slams for eight RBI for the Sabers.

Momence 5, CPCI 4. Alex Rabe went 2 for 4 and Trevor Froehling doubled and had an RBI in the loss.

Danville 12, Lake Forest 2. Chuckie Robinson was 4 for 4 and Cash Kiser and Austin West each added three hits for the Vikings.

In softball

Unity 23, Central 0. McKenzie Krutsinger fired a five-inning no-hitter, striking out eight in a home win. She also went 3 for 3 and drove in four for the Rockets, who scored 15 runs in the second inning. Madi Clark chipped in three RBI.

Oakwood 10, Shiloh 0. Karissa Nelson went 3 for 4 with an RBI and Ashley Wahlfeldt was 2 for 3 with three RBI for the visiting Comets (1-3) in the six-inning game.

PBL 11, Tri-Point 1. JJ Valentine went 3 for 3 and Brooke Allen and Kaylee Genzel each added two hits as host Paxton-Buckley-Loda won in six innings. Liz Satterlee (6-1) pitched a six-hitter.

Tuscola 16, South Piatt 2. SAM LEDBETTER went 3 for 4 with two runs for the Warriors, who broke it open with a five-run third inning. KAILAN MORRIS had two of South Piatt's four hits against winning pitcher ERIN WALKER.

Meridian 10, Cerro Gordo 0. Kristie Krigbaum had two hits in the loss.

Watseka 11, Clifton Central 4. Mariah Carroll had three hits and two RBI for the Warriors.

GCMS 15, Milford 0. REGAN ROMSHEK pitched a no-hitter — striking out 11 — and helped her cause with a double and triple as Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley won in five innings. KAITI BOWEN added two hits and four RBI for the Falcons.

M-S 3, Blue Ridge 1. JessicA Roberts broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth-inning with an inside-the-park home run to back Alie Tarrant, who scattered three hits over seven innings. Roberts had two hits. Jordan Wheeler was 2 for 3 to spark Blue Ridge.

Iroquois West 9, St. Thomas More 8. ELENA SANCHEZ had two RBI as the Raiders rallied then hung on.

In soccer

St. Thomas More 3, Judah Christian 0. Jade BRINKOETTER had two goals for the Sabers, who got a goal and an assist from LOUISETTE LUKUSA.

M-S 8, Monticello 0. KAYLA THOMPSON and SARAH VanWingerden each scored twice for the Bulldogs (3-0).

Centennial 5, Uni High 0. Katelynn Martinez scored three goals, and Haley Hollern and Grace Ayodele also scored for the Chargers, who got a shutout from Hope Archer.

Mattoon 2, Urbana 1. Melinda Mendoza scored for the Tigers, who led 1-0 at halftime. Christiana Stark had four saves in the loss.
