Teams of the Week: M-S girls' soccer in spotlight

The Bulldogs continued their unbeaten start to the season, shutting out Champaign Central and Bloomington Central Catholic, giving the school six shutouts in its first seven matches.

After an 0-8 start, the Panthers have been strong since entering Little Okaw Valley Conference play, winning seven league games in a row, three by pitcher John Essig.

The Warriors won all six of their games in an eight-day stretch — twice by one run — and all six victories were earned by different pitchers, five of whom are underclassmen.

The Warriors, winners of nine in a row, ended the week with Erin Walker's no-hitter against Urbana. Walker was 3-0 for the week and was backed by an offense that scored at least 10 runs in each game.
