Friday's prep highlights: Redskins work OT for victory

In baseball

Sullivan 2, Neoga. 1. After forcing extra innings with a run in the bottom of the seventh, the Redskins scored in the eighth to pull out a home win. Josiah Davidson pitched a complete-game six-hitter for Sullivan.

Watseka 7, St. Anne 0. Austin Hasselbring pitched a two-hit shutout and Robin Hasselbring went 2 for 2 with three RBI for the host Warriors.

Iroquois West 10, Gardner-South Wilmington 0. Henry Gerritson pitched a no-hitter and was backed by a seven-run third inning as the Raiders cruised to a home win. Jake Miller homered and drove in three runs.

Tremont 12, Fisher 8. Nick Thomas (3 for 4) and Tate Estes had two RBI apiece for the Bunnies in a home loss.

South Piatt 5, East Central 0. Connor Gross pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out 10 to lead the Wildcats to a road win against short-handed East Central, which was without six players who were on a senior trip.

El Paso/Gridley 12, GCMS 2. The Falcons were held to two hits in a home defeat.

Bloomington Central Catholic 7, Ridgeview 1. Josh Morgan drove in the Mustangs' lone run in a home loss.

Oakwood 8-11, Milford 6-1. Cameron Lee pitched a one-hitter and homered to lead the Comets to a Game 2 victory and a sweep at home. Hunter Krauel went 3 for 4 for Oakwood in the nightcap.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 6, Bismarck-Henning 4. Kyle Coburn's two-run double in the fifth gave the Buffaloes the lead for good in a home win.

LeRoy 3 Paxton-Buckley-Loda 2. Caleb Graybeal's three-run home run in the second inning stood up behind the pitching of Nic Stevens as the Panthers won at home.

Okaw Valley 4, Arthur-Lovington 3. Jake Lagrou and Evan Seegmiller each drove in a run in the Knights' road loss.

Flanagan-Cornell-Woodland 6, Blue Ridge 1. Conner Builta went 2 for 3 and Jeremy Dubson had an RBI for the Knights in a road loss.

In softball

Tremont 9, Fisher 1. Freshman Leah Williams had one of the host Bunnies' two hits and drove in their lone run.

GCMS 11, El Paso/Gridley 1. Jessica Hunter (home run) and Brianna Wall drove in three runs apiece to back Regan Romshek's three-hit pitching and carry the host Falcons in five innings.

Milford 6, Oakwood 5. Trailing 5-3, Milford was down to its last strike when it struck for three runs to pull out a road win.

Westville 10, Hoopeston Area 6. Jodee Ottino hit a two-run homer and drove in three to power the host Tigers. Abby Barth also homered and scored three runs for Westville. Bryce Franklin belted a three-run homer for the Cornjerkers.

Blue Ridge 5, Flanagan 2. Jordan Wheeler struck out 13, and Jamison Brandt had three RBI in the Knights' road win.

Martinsville 11-6, Cerro Gordo 5-23. The host Broncos erupted for 17 runs in the sixth inning of the second game to earn a split. Sadie Sawyer went 5 for 5 with four RBI, while Kristie Krigbaum and Haley Wright drove in three apiece.

PBL 8, LeRoy 6. Catlyn Ekstrom and Brooke Allen had two hits apiece for the Panthers in a road win. Katie Woltkamp went 3 for 4 for LeRoy, which outhit PBL 14-9 but committed five errors.

St. Joseph-Ogden 8-7, Casey-Westfield 2-1. Mickaela Fleming pitched a four-hitter to lead the visiting Spartans (24-0) to a Game 2 victory and a doubleheader sweep. Elizabeth Everingham, who won the opener with a two-hitter, had five hits in the two games. Fleming totaled three hits and four RBI for the day.

Prairie Central 5, Rantoul 1. Maci Oeschlager pitched a five-hitter for the host Hawks.

In girls' soccer

Judah Christian 3, Decatur Christian 0. Erin Huggett recorded her first shutout of the season, and the host Tribe scored all of its goals in the second half.

In boys' tennis

O'Fallon 5, Centennial 4. Sunny Singh and Akshay Krishnamani each earned singles and doubles wins for the Chargers.
