Tuesday's prep highlights: Garth shows way for Centennial

At Urbana. Jansin Garth won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and was part of two victorious relays, leading Centennial to the team title at the Twin City Championships.
Garth was clocked in 11.33 seconds in the 100 and 23.25 in the 200. He ran on the triumphant 400 and 800 relays.
The Chargers, who totaled 102 points, also were led by David Briscoe, who won the 110 hurdles (15.47) and the 300 hurdles (41.35).
Centennial also got victories in the shot put and discus from Luke Vaughn. Vaughn tossed the shot 51 feet, 6 inches and the discus 164-4 1/2.
Champaign Central was second with 60 points.
Pierre Tuell won the 400 (51.23) and the high jump (5-9) for St. Thomas More, which finished third with 50 points. The Sabers also received two victories from Sam Powers in the 800 (2 minutes, 2.72 seconds) and the 1,600 (4:35.88).
Malik Williams of Judah Christian went 21-1 to win the long jump.
At Gibson City. Sydni Meunier set meet records en route to winning the 1,600 and 3,200, leading GCMS to the girls' title at the McLean County/HOIC meet. Angel Gaesser won the 400, 800 and triple jump to pace the Falcons, who set a meet record in the 1,600 relay.
Jordyn Nettleton (100 hurdles) and Kayla O'Neal also were event winners for GCMS.
In the boys' meet, which was won by Tremont, Blue Ridge's Coale Dolbert (high jump), GCMS' JJ Gardner (shot put) and Ridgeview's Bryce Powell (long jump) were area winners.
Prairie Central 7, M-S 6. Brooke Bachtold went 2 for 4, including a home run, to pace the visiting Hawks.
Jessica Roberts went 3 for 3 (two doubles) with four RBI for Mahomet-Seymour.
Clinton 7, A-O 3. Emily Kroeger (RBI) and Haley Ginger each went 3 for 4 for the visiting Maroons against Argenta-Oreana. Haley Toohill and Bailey Walker each had two hits and two RBI for Clinton.
St. Teresa 3, Monticello 2. Jacob Williams was the hard-luck loser for the visiting Sages (16-6). Williams allowed one earned run on two hits in 6 2/3 innings.
STM 4, St. Teresa 2. Jade Brinkoetter scored twice in the second half for host St. Thomas More (12-4-1), which also got goals from Michaela Ward and Louisette Lukusa. Lukusa also contributed two assists.
Decatur LSA 3, Judah Christian 1. ERIN HUGGETT made 12 saves for the visiting Tribe, which got a first-half goal from MADDIE JOHNSON.
