Teams of the Week: PBL boys' track & field in spotlight

The Panthers had sectional champions in Andy Thompson (800) and Cory Long (discus) and gained a share of their first postseason team title in the sport when the 1,600 relay — anchored by Hayden Young — placed third.

The Bulldogs captured their fourth regional crown in a decade, improving to 15-2-1 by continuing their seasonlong strength: defense. Thirteen of the wins have been by shutout, and the Bulldogs have yielded 12 goals.

Josh Brookins pitched a two-hit shutout in the regional opener and Jacob Barr fired a two-hit shutout in the regional final as the Warriors (20-13) won their fourth regional championship in the past five seasons.

The Panthers (24-8), led by six senior starters, won a regional title for the sixth time in the past 12 years. Liz Satterlee posted her 20th victory in a 13-6 championship-game win over Bismarck-Henning.
