Friday's highlights: Jimson-Miller speeds to finale

In track & field
■ At Texas Relays.
Danville senior Alexus Jimson-Miller advanced to today’s final in the 100-meter hurdles. On Friday, she ran the seventh-fastest qualifying time (14.36 seconds) in her first outdoor race of the season. Jimson-Miller holds the Danville school record in the event at 14.17, which she set as a junior.

In softball
■ Rantoul 10, Charleston 5.
Carson Church went 2 for 3, including a home run, with three RBI and three runs for the visiting Eagles.

■ Westville 7, Milford 1. Katie Swisher had two hits, two runs and two stolen bases for the host Tigers, who received a double, RBI and run from Ashley Hoffman. Winning pitcher Carson Richardson (1-1) scattered two hits. Madison Luecke went 1 for 3 with an RBI in the loss.

■ At Cleveland, Tenn. Bailey Walker, Haley Toohill (double, RBI) and Mally Hickman (RBI) each went 2 for 3 for Clinton in its 3-2 victory against Dickson County, Tenn.
Walker struck out four batters in the Maroons’ 12-1 loss to Riverdale. Haley Ginger, Megan Tool and Hickman each had one hit.

■ G-RF/C 6, Salt Fork 0. Brittany Hay had two doubles and two RBI for host Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman, which got two RBI and a double from Callan Hall. Emilie McFadden doubled for the Storm.

■ Heritage 7-9, Martinsville 0-4. Ali Stigers and Cedar Richardson each went 2 for 2 in the first game for the Hawks. Stephanie Sanderson was 2 for 2 with three stolen bases in the second game.

In baseball
■ Champaign Central 5, Lincoln 4.
Luke Beesley hit a two-out single that scored Connor Mapes in the bottom of the eighth inning for the host Maroons. Scott Runyan pitched 21/3 innings in relief and earned his third win of the season. Starter Zach Dorner allowed one earned run in 62/3 innings. Kurtis Brown had two RBI, and Mapes had two hits and two runs.

■ East Central 10, Martinsville 4. Cyrus Furgeson, Chance Lemmon and Cole Bogle each had two hits in the home victory.     

■ Westville 8, Milford 0. Tyler Dicken had two hits and three RBI for the host Tigers, who got 11 strikeouts from winning pitcher Dillon Turner.
