In baseball
Unity 2, Warrensburg-Latham 0. Brandon Deaville threw a three-hit shutout, striking out nine, to lead the visiting Rockets. Mitch Negangard, who was 2 for 3, drove in both runs for Unity (10-6).

Schlarman 11, A-P 1. Winning pitcher Mason Combs (2-0) struck out 10 Armstrong-Potomac batters. The visiting Hilltoppers got three hits and an RBI from Emmitt Black.

Cerro Gordo/Bement 13, Okaw Valley 3. Cole Blickensderfer went 3 for 3 with three RBI for the Broncos, who got a double and two RBI from Bailey Runyen. Ethan Morton had two hits and three runs in the victory.

East Central 7, Villa Grove 0. Dalton James and Cyrus Furgeson each had two hits for the host Panthers (9-7, 5-1 Little Okaw Valley Conference), who got two RBI from Cole Graham. Winning pitcher Luke Armstrong struck out eight and allowed three hits in six innings.

St. Teresa 13, Tuscola 5. Austin Martin had two hits, including a home run, for the host Warriors.

In track & field
At Sullivan. Sullivan/Okaw Valley’s Amanda McClain won the 200 meters, 400 meters and long jump at the Bi-County Track Meet. McClain won the 200 in 26.00 seconds and the 400 in 59.90. She went 16 feet in the long jump. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond’s Karly Goodman won the shot put with a toss of 34 feet, 5 inches. Sullivan/Okaw Valley earned second in the team standings.

In the boys’ meet, A-L/A-H’s Jeffrey Earnst won the 3,200 in 10 minutes, 35.31 seconds. Sullivan/Okaw Valley’s Zeke Kibler was victorious in the 110 hurdles, clocking 17 seconds. Sullivan’s Dalton Williams won the pole vault, clearing 11 feet. Sullivan/Okaw Valley won the boys’ meet.

In softball
Fisher 6, GCMS 0. Kelcie Fredrickson had two hits, including a double, and an RBI to back her performance on the mound for the host Bunnies (7-5, 3-2 Heart of Illinois Conference), who got two RBI from Kalli Gosser and two hits, two runs and an RBI from Emilee Schwing.

Rylie Rottman had two hits for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.

“Kelcie did a great job on the mound and at the plate. Emilee Schwing was on base three times, which jump-started our offense.  The girls were very good defensively,” Fisher coach Ken Ingold said.

M-S 13, STM 8. Jessica Roberts went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBI for host Mahomet-Seymour, which received three RBI and two runs from Alyssa Spoerer. Ally Thornton and Lucy Stahl each had three hits in the victory against St. Thomas More.

Emily Ziegler and Hannah Fortune each had two RBI for M-S. The Sabers got two hits and three runs from Alyssa Vodacek and three hits, three runs and three RBI from Brooke Plotner.

Schlarman 11, A-P 1. Sydne Bryant and Briana Welsch each hit two home runs for the visiting Hilltoppers. Winning pitcher Maria Rangel scattered five hits. Makenzie Vinson homered for Armstrong-Potomac.

Centennial 4, Danville 0. Bekah Bamert doubled for the host Chargers in their Big 12 Conference victory. Katie Janson went 2 for 3 with two runs for Centennial, which got a double from Brianna Perry. Winning pitcher Danielle Staske struck out three and allowed three hits.

Cerro Gordo/Bement 9, Okaw Valley 3. Kristi Krigbaum doubled and drove in four runs for the host Broncos, who received two hits and two stolen bases apiece from Kailin Morris, Stephanie Shook and Sadie Sawyer.
