In baseball
Danville 3, Centennial 2. Chase Thurston recorded 10 strikeouts and Chuckie Robinson homered, leading the Vikings to a Big 12 road win. Thurston and Chargers pitcher Austin Johnson each threw complete-game four-hitters.

Mattoon 7, Champaign Central 0. The Maroons were limited to two hits, including a double by Jake Cribbett, in a road loss.

Unity 11, Fisher 1. Mitch Negangard went 2 for 3 with two RBI and pitched a four-hit complete game to lead the Rockets to a home win. Negangard finished with seven strikeouts. Zach Gadbury (2 for 4) also drove in two runs for Unity.

Watseka 12-10, Cissna Park 3-0. Brock Myers went 2 for 2 with a three-run homer run to lead Watseka to a nine-run victory in the completion of a game previously suspended by inclement weather. Winning pitcher Austin Hasselbring struck out 12. In the second game, the Warriors scored seven runs in the third inning and Cody Scott pitched a one-hit shutout.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda 10, Schlarman 2. The Panthers rolled to a home win behind Martin MenneNga, who went 2 for 3 with two RBI.

Monticello 7, Sullivan 2. David Vanderkloot went 2 for 2 with two RBI for the Sages in a road win. Winning pitcher Ross Reeder (seven strikeouts) and Daniel Caldwell combined on a three-hitter.

Salt Fork 9, Hoopeston Area 3. Cole Taylor struck out 16 batters in six innings and drove in three runs to lead the Storm to a home win.

Normal West 4, Rantoul 1. Cord Church and Chris Deaville each went 2 for 3 for the Eagles, who lost when Normal West scored three times in the eighth inning.

Iroquois West 5, Tri-Point 2. Shut out through six innings, the Raiders scored all of their runs in the seventh to pull out a road win. Henry Gerritson delivered a two-run single and Clark Fink also singled in a run for IW.

St. Joseph-Ogden 12, Clifton Central 2. Tyler McCormick went 3 for 3, including a double and two-run home run, to power the Spartans to a home victory. Winning pitcher Louis Acklin (5-1) struck out seven in the five-inning game.

Clinton 10, Sullivan 1. Steven Evans went 2 for 3 with four RBI to help the Maroons roll to a road win. Winning pitcher Greg Osgood struck out seven and allowed one earned run in a complete game.

Tuscola 5, Arthur-Lovington 2. Nick Bates and Austin Cochennour combined on a one-hitter to lead the Warriors to a home win. Bates and Jackson McCrory had two hits apiece for Tuscola.

Cerro Gordo/Bement 9, Central A&M 8. Connor Gross’ bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted the Broncos to a walk-off victory. Gross and Mason Neislie each had three hits for CG/B.

East Central 7, Judah Christian 5. Jake Stokes went 3 for 4 with two RBI for the Panthers, who scored five runs in the sixth inning of a come-from-behind win. Luke Armstrong homered and drove in two runs for East Central. Brendan Black had two RBI for the Tribe.

El Paso-Gridley 7, LeRoy 2. Bryce Dooley had two hits for the Panthers in a road defeat.

Oakwood 1, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 0. Kyle Girton singled in the bottom of the ninth inning to drive in the only run of the game. Winning pitcher Jake England pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out 16 while not issuing a walk.

In softball
Urbana 21, Champaign Central 2. Ellen Beverly had three hits, including a home run, and four RBI to lead a 17-hit attack that carried the Tigers to a road win. Taylor Lovett and Krista Broom contributed three hits and three RBI apiece for Urbana.

Mattoon 10, Centennial 0. The Chargers were held to three hits in a six-inning road defeat.

Schlarman 1, Westville 0. Cayti Jones’ RBI single in the fourth inning produced the only run and pitcher Maria Rangel made the lead stand up for the Hilltoppers in a home win. Ashley Hoffman went 2 for 3 for Westville.

■ Clinton 10, Sullivan/Okaw Valley 0. The Maroons handed the visiting Redskins their first loss of the season behind Bailey Walker’s five-hit shutout. Walker also homered and drove in two runs. Emily Kroeger has three of Clinton’s 14 hits.

Shiloh 5, Martinsville 1. Stephanie Hunt threw a three-hit complete game and did not allow an earned run for Shiloh in a home win. Jessica Hunt doubled and scored twice for the Raiders.

Donovan 4, Watseka 1. Katie McTaggart drove in the Warriors’ lone run in a road loss.

Iroquois West 7, Tri-Point 3. Tegan Cash had three hits and drove in four runs to lead the Raiders to a road victory. Tailere Keister reached base four times for IW.

Fisher 7, Heyworth 6. Molly Fairfield’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Bunnies to a neutral-site win at Downs. Winning pitcher Kelcie Fredrickson (7-1) struck out seven.

Hartsburg-Emden 7, Blue Ridge 6. Liz Cordes went 2 for 4 with two RBI for the Knights, who saw a 6-5 lead slip away in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Tuscola 16, Central A&M 8. Peyton Shelmadine went 3 for 4 with five RBI to power the Warriors to a road win. Amber Miller contributed three hits and four RBI for Tuscola. Teammate Morgan Little went 4 for 4.

Mahomet-Seymour 9, BCC 3. Emily Ziegler went 4 for 4 and scored three runs for the Bulldogs in a home win. Lindsey Ogle and winning pitcher Alie Tarrant (11 strikeouts) each drove in two runs.

St. Joseph-Ogden 14-14, Clifton Central 3-3. Samantha Fleming had six hits and drove in six runs for the Spartans in a doubleheader sweep. Mickaela Fleming homered twice and drove in five runs for SJ-O.

In girls’ soccer
■ Centennial 6, Urbana 0. Dagny Olson racked up four goals and Centennial’s defense held Urbana without a shot on goal in a home win. Olson also had an assist. Katelynn Martinez contributed three assists.

Champaign Central 3, St. Teresa 0. Maddy Chalifoux scored twice for the Maroons in a home victory. Emica quigley contributed a goal and two assists.

St. Thomas More 7, Danville 0. Jade Brinkoetter recorded her third hat trick in the last four games and Lexi Wallen earned her seventh shutout of the season to propel to host Sabers to a Senior Night victory.

Danville First Baptist 3, Judah Christian 1. Hannah Wells and Ashley GreazeR scored unassisted goals to stake First Baptist to a 2-0 halftime lead. Brooke Childers tallied the lone goal for the Tribe.

Mattoon 2, Urbana University High 0. The Illineks were shut out at home.

Mahomet-Seymour 3, Bloomington 0. Sarah VanWingerden, Marisa Ellis and Brianna Haney scored for the Bulldogs in a road win.

In boys’ tennis

At Urbana. Tyler Ellis won at No. 1 singles and combined with Travis Brown for a victory at No. 1 doubles, leading Danville to a 5-4 win against the host Tigers.

At Paris. James Tressler did not lose a game in singles or doubles as St. Thomas More rolled to a 9-0 victory against Paris.
Nathaniel Thomas and Nathaniel Stringer each lost one game in their two matches.
