Parr's streak hits 31 in loss

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning to steal a 4-3 win away from Illinois on Sunday.

The Illini were leading 3-1 when Joel Fisher connected for the Spartans.

"It was a tough loss," Illini coach Dan Hartleb said. "This was a really
important game, so we have our work cut out for us down the stretch in the
Big Ten."

The loss dropped Illinois into seventh place with six Big Ten games remaining.

Justin Parr was 2 for 4 to increase his hitting streak to 31 games, longest in the NCAA this season.
