In girls’ soccer

Urbana 9, Danville 0. Ellie England and Cate Hummel each scored two goals for the host Tigers in a Class 2A regional match.

Fourth-seeded Urbana will play top-seeded Mahomet-Seymour at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Urbana in a semifinal match.

Anna Krehbiel had a goal and an assist in the victory, and teammate Rebecca Hanks contributed two assists. Leah Berti, Alison Slaughter, Cora McQueen and Sophia Ruiz-Gehrt also scored for the Tigers. Kaityln Fouke assisted on McQueen’s goal.

In softball

M-S 8, Monticello 7. Alyssa Spoerer had two hits and three RBI for host Mahomet-Seymour, which led 8-0 after four innings. Alie Tarrant (RBI) and Kristen Belyea each had two hits for the Bulldogs. Tarrant (11-4) struck out seven in her complete-game victory. Chrissy Gadbury doubled and drove in two runs for the Sages.

Centennial 10, Springfield Southeast 0. Katie Janson went 2 for 4 with four RBI for the host Chargers, who received two hits and two RBI from Makena Brillhart. Winning pitcher Danielle Staske struck out eight and allowed one hit.

PBL 12, Heritage 11. Bethany Knight hit a two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning for host Paxton-Buckley-Loda on Senior Night. Paige Schwartz went 2 for 4 with two runs for the Panthers, who got three hits, two runs and an RBI from Amanda Ypya. Sami Schoonover contributed two hits, two runs and two RBI in the victory. The Hawks were led by Stephanie Sanderson, who had three hits, four runs and an RBI. Cedar Richardson had three hits, two runs and two RBI for Heritage, which got two hits and two RBI from Miranda Pruitt.  

A-L/A-H 4, Okaw Valley 2. Sherelle Coller had two hits, including a double, and an RBI for host Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, which got two hits from Emily Seegmiller and a two-run double from Kaitie Wildman. Wildman (10-3) also tossed a complete game.

Blue Ridge 17, Ridgeview 2. Jamison Brandt had two hits, two runs and three RBI for the visiting Knights, who received two hits and three runs from Liz Cordes.

Watseka 4, Grant Park 2. Colleen Suchy went 3 for 3 with an RBI for the visiting Warriors, who got two hits from Taylor Bauer and an RBI from Danielle Shuper.

In baseball

Central 5, Danville 1. Zach Williams tossed a complete game for the host Maroons, who received three hits apiece from Jake Snider and Luke Beesley (two RBI). Kurtis Brown added a two-run double in the Big 12 Conference victory. Chase Thurston had three hits for the Vikings.

Centennial 13, Urbana 6. Zach Parks went 3 for 4, including a double, and scored four runs for the visiting Chargers in the completion of a May 2 game. Austin Johnson had three hits, including two doubles, and three runs for Centennial, which received two RBI from Grey Schultz. The Tigers (6-15, 3-6 Big 12) got two hits, including a double, and two RBI from Brian Summers. Tanner Russell added a double in the loss.

Oakwood 15, B-H 1. Kaleb Thompson hit a three-run triple, lifting the visiting Comets past Bismarck-Henning. With the win, Oakwood tied for the Vermilion Valley Conference title. Ryan Bott added two hits and Conor Jarling had two RBI in the victory. Patrick Ganley doubled for the Blue Devils.

Unity 6, Argenta-Oreana 1. Winning pitcher Mitch Negangard (6-4) allowed no earned runs and struck out six in his complete game. C.J. Short had two hits and two RBI for the Rockets. Ryan Redpath had two hits for the Bombers (17-5, 7-3 Okaw Valley Conference).

Iroquois West 7, Prairie Central 6. The Raiders scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning. Keaton Zirkle had two home runs and three RBI for Iroquois West, which got a run and an RBI from Henry Gerritson. Dan Schlatter (two runs) and Stuart Schopp each had two hits for the Hawks.

Monticello 5, Tuscola 3. Ryne Bundy was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Matt Crook added a hit and an RBI for the host Sages (10-6), who got a complete-game five-hitter from Austin Hopper. Nick Bates led Tuscola with two hits and an RBI.

Judah Christian 7, Arthur Okaw Christian 4. Winning pitcher Dylan Hamilton went five innings and struck out five for the visiting Tribe.

Watseka 8, Grant Park 1. Caleb Parker went 3 for 4 with three RBI for the visiting Warriors (17-6), who got three hits and an RBI from Tyler LaVoie in the six-inning game.

East Central 6, Okaw Valley 1. Dalton James had three hits and Dalton Tweedy had three RBI for the host Panthers (16-13, 10-4 Little Okaw Valley Conference). Chance Lemmon added two hits in the victory.

Normal Community 6, Rantoul 3. Josh Oliveras had a double and an RBI for the visiting Eagles.
