Thursday's prep highlights: Unity edges Salt Fork in baseball
■ Unity 5, Salt Fork 4. Mitchell Snodgrass, C.J. Short and Zach Spencer had three hits apiece for the Rockets in a season-opening road win. Ross Learnard and Noah Darr each had two hits for the Storm (1-1).
■ St. Joseph-Ogden 8, Watseka 1. Chase Gadau had three hits and reliever Cole Berry struck out seven of the nine batters he faced, leading the Spartans to a home win. Winning pitcher Tyler McCormick (six strikeouts) and Berry combined for a one-hitter.
■ Fisher 15, Urbana 0. Toree Stalter belted a three-run home run and finished with five RBI, powering the Bunnies to a five-inning road victory. Winning pitcher Kelsey Fredrickson and Megan McCoy combined on a one-hitter.
■ Unity 12, Paris 1. Gracie Schweighart, Carsen Bolsted and Madison Routh each drove in two runs and scored twice, propelling the Rockets to a five-inning home win. Winning pitcher Harley Duncan and McKenzie Krutsinger combined on a four-hitter and did not allow an earned run.
■ St. Joseph-Ogden 14, Watseka 0. Molly McElwee had three hits and three RBI and stole four bases to lead the Spartans to a five-inning home victory. Kassidy Clark and Johanna Sage each homered for SJ-O, while winning pitcher Lexie Boaz and Tori Witruk combined on a two-hit shutout.

■ St. Thomas More 7, Monticello 1. The Sabers rolled to a road win behind Louisette Lukusa’s two goals and two assists. Courtney Wax and Michaela Ward each scored twice for STM, with Wax also contributing an assist.
