Monday's prep highlights: M-S tops Danville
■ Mahomet-Seymour 11, Danville 1. Chris Redman struck out seven and allowed two hits in five innings. Kevin Mumm had three hits for the Bulldogs. Andy Livingston and Cully Day contributed two hits apiece in the victory. Austin West picked up his first loss of the season for Danville. Brady Watkins was 1 for 2 and scored the Vikings’ run.
■ Centennial 7, John Burroughs, Mo. 6. Dylan Grady, Austin Johnson, Anthony Martin, Lucas Martin and Greg Huss all drove in first-inning runs as the Chargers (2-0) jumped to a five-run lead after an inning against an opponent from Missouri on the team’s spring trip to Fort Pierce, Fla. Luke Smith picked up the pitching win, working the final 21/3 innings in relief of Tyler Yoder. Smith fanned four in his stint.
■ Champaign Central 10, Westchester (N.C.) 1. Winning pitcher Taylor Beard allowed one run in five innings in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
■ Cissna Park 21, Donovan 0. The Timberwolves scored 18 runs in the third inning. Cissna Park needed nine hits to score its 21 runs. Jake Montgomery had two hits and drove in three runs. Trace Nims added one hit and two RBI. Devon Laubscher and Noah Anderson combined on the five inning no-hitter.
■ Milford 12, Iroquois West 2. The Bearcats scored 11 runs in the first three innings to take control. Alex Portwood, Ryley Ward and Tanner Davenport combined for seven hits and nine RBI. Davenport also picked up the win, allowing two runs in five innings. He gave up eight hits and struck out 12.
■ Normal West 16, Monticello 8. Chrissy Gadbury went the distance for the host Sages. Monticello was within one run before Normal West scored seven runs in the final inning. Allie Hislope hit two home runs for the Sages. Claire Huisinga was 2 for 4 with two RBI in the loss.
■ Milford 19, Iroquois West 10. In Milford’s home opener, Mindy Garrelts pitched into the seventh inning to collect her first win of the season. The Bearcats scored 13 runs in the first three innings and took advantage of seven Iroquois West errors. Erin McNally was 4 for 6, scored three runs and recorded five RBI. Garrelts was 2 for 4 with three RBI.
■ Paris 6, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 1. The Buffaloes manufactured two hits in their first loss of the season. Macey Alexander was 1 for 3 and drove in her team’s only run. Brittany Hay was 1 for 2, stole two bases and scored a run. Lexi Sliva struck out five and gave up 10 hits in the loss.

■ At Clinton. Central’s Ranija Turner finished first in the shot put, tossing 38 feet, 8.75 inches.
