Wednesday's prep highlights: Learnard throws perfect game

■ Paxton-Buckley-Loda 13, Iroquois West 1. The Panthers scored six runs in the third and sixth innings. Wyatt Kingery and Jay Eshleman combined to give up four hits.

■ Cerro Gordo/Bement 11, Tri-County 1. Cole Blickensderfer allowed five hits and struck out six for the Broncos. Blickensderfer had a home run and two RBI. Mason Neisslie was 3 for 4 with a double.

■ Okaw Valley 16, Arcola 1. Justin Kuhns and Devin Warren had two hits apiece for the Purple Riders.

■ Central 6, Mt. Zion 3. The Maroons’ five runs in the second inning was the difference as they improved to 16-0. Phillip Swartz won his fifth game of season, while Zach Dorner picked up the save. Joseph Aeilts had two hits and two RBI.

■ Cissna Park 11, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 8. The Timberwolves rallied to score seven runs in the last two innings. Jacob Marquez was 2 for 4 and Riley Savoree had two hits.
Axel Doran had three hits and scored two runs for the Falcons. David Bean had three hits and two RBI. Tommy Cook was 3 for 3.

■ Tuscola 11, Villa Grove/Heritage 6. Austin Martin struck out 12 for the Warriors, while adding three hits. Tristan Williams had three hits and a home run. Chance Lemmon had two hits, three RBI and a home run for VG/H.

■ Salt Fork 11, Schlarman 0. Ross Learnard struck out nine in a perfect game. Noah Darr had two hits and an RBI. Max Stutsman had two hits and an RBI. Cole Taylor and Garrett McFadden each drove in two runs.

■ Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 10, Martinsville 0. Tyler Schuring struck out nine in a complete game no-hitter for the Lancers. Ross Ryan had three hits and two RBI.

■ Rantoul 10, Charleston 9. The Eagles rallied to score three runs in the seventh inning. Kolton Vermillion was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI. Garrett Goodrum had three hits and three RBI.

■ Mahomet-Seymour 10, Eureka 1. Joe Kenney had two hits and two RBI for the Bulldogs, while Tom Kenney (two hits, two RBI) and Cully Day (two hits) each contributed.

■ Fisher 6, Heyworth 4. Kyle Williams struck out nine and allowed six hits. Brad Pettenger had two hits and an RBI. Tyler Rogers was 2 for 4 and scored a run.

■ Tremont 3, LeRoy 2. Eli Kerns had two hits, two stolen bases and an RBI for LeRoy.

■ Westville 12, Oakwood 4. Kyle Brazas had two hits and four RBI for Westville, while Adam High had three hits and scored two runs. Zach Girton had a double for Oakwood.

■ Terre Haute (Ind.) South 14, Danville 3. Austin West had a three-run home run for the Vikings.

In softball
■ Salt Fork 6, Schlarman 3. Salt Fork scored three runs in the sixth inning for the comeback victory. Kalyn Learnard had three hits. Emily McFadden had two hits and three RBI, and Lea Hall had two hits and two RBI for the Storm.

■ Westville 20, Oakwood 3. Westville broke a third-inning tie by scoring 17 unanswered runs the rest of the game. Stefanie Nourie was the winning pitcher, allowing nine hits.

■ Paxton-Buckley-Loda 14, Iroquois West 4. PBL rallied form an early deficit to score 14 runs in three innings. Cassie Oyer had two hits, two RBI and two stolen bases, while Ariel Flessner was 2 for 3 and scored three runs. Tailere Keister had a double, scored two runs and a stolen base for Iroquois West.

■ Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 23, Martinsville 0. The Lancers scored 20 runs in the first two innings. Katie Wildman pitched a complete game no-hitter to go along with Wildman had three hits and three RBI.

■ Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 7, Armstrong-Potomac 0. Savannah Brooks allowed three hits in the complete game shutout. Megan Burris was 2 for 4.

■ St. Joseph-Ogden 9, Rantoul 3. Molly McElwee had four hits, three RBI and scored three runs for the Spartans. Allison Rose had three hits and stole three bases. Kaylee Denton and Jordan Smith each had three hits for Rantoul.  

■ Clinton 4, Unity 1. Alexis Estes had three strikeouts and had three hits to lead the Maroons. Teammates Payton Bieber (two hits) and Haley Toohill (two RBI) chipped in.

■ Blue Ridge 7, Lexington 1. Jamison Brandt had three hits, one RBI and scored two runs for Blue Ridge, while Megan Tsevelekos had two hits, two RBI and struck out eight.

■ Monticello 1, Tuscola 0. Samantha Valentine hit the game-winning homerun in the seventh inning for the Sages. Erin Walker allowed two hits and struck out five for the Warriors.

■ Cerro Gordo/Bement 7, Shiloh 6. Stephanie Shook had a hit and two RBI for the Broncos, while Jessica Hunt and Lauren Moses each hit home runs for Shiloh.

■ Mahomet-Seymour 12, Urbana 2. Morgan Cheek allowed five hits in five innings for the Bulldogs. Jessica Hammack added two hits, two RBI and scored three runs for M-S, while Makayla Dulaney had two hits and an RBI for Urbana.

■ Charleston 10, Central 0. Shireen Hassan had two strikeouts and a hit for the Maroons.
