Athletes of the Week: White, Marry

Recently: Millikin recruit remained unbeaten in the discus outdoors and eclipsed 150 feet in consecutive meets in his second year in the sport. He won the Monticello Invitational and has a season-best toss of 151 feet, 4 inches, the second best in school history.

In his own words: “I’ve worked on my form and gotten stronger and more explosive. I was aiming at 150 feet.”

I sent my last text to ... Jillian.

I’m driving ... nothing.

I need tickets to ... a Chicago Bears game.

My favorite track is ... the one at Centennial.

My favorite professional team is the ... Chicago Bears.

Before a meet, I’m listening to ... stuff that hypes you up.

After a game, I’m eating ... Subway.

My pet peeve is ... nothing.

In five years ... I hope to be playing football.

Rantoul High School is ... a school with a whole lot of athletes.

Recently: Won four events in the Prairie Central Invitational, taking first place in the 100 meters, the 200, the 300 hurdles and the 400. The 400 and 300 hurdles are back-to-back events, and there’s one other race after them before the 200.

In her own words: “It was tiring, but not as bad as I thought. Trying to keep my legs explosive was the hard part.”

I’m driving ... a Pontiac G-6.

I need tickets to ... watch track in the Olympics.

My favorite track is ... Fisher’s new all-weather track.

My favorite professional team is the ... Chicago Cubs.

Before a game, I’m listening to ... nothing. I’m focused on my races.

After a game, I’m eating ... a ham sandwich from Jimmy John’s.

My pet peeve is ... people who are loud when they eat.

In five years ... I hope to be in grad school for physical therapy.

Fisher High School is ... really small. Everyone knows everybody, and you’re close with all your classmates.
