Wednesday's prep highlights: Chargers tennis team cruises

In boys’ tennis
■ At Danville. Patrick Kearney led Centennial to a 9-0 victory against the Vikings. Kearney won his singles match 6-0, 6-0. Kearney and Andrew Scaggs teamed up for a 6-0, 6-0 victory in doubles. Matthew Scaggs and Sunny Singh each had 6-0, 6-1 singles victories.

In baseball
■ LeRoy 12, Fisher 7. LeRoy scored 10 runs in the last three innings. Bryce Dooley was 3 for 4 with three runs. Ricky Vermaat had two hits and three RBI. Kyle Williams had three hits and three RBI for the Bunnies.

■ Rantoul 14, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 1. Bradley Graybill struck out six and allowed three hits. Graybill had three hits and three RBI.

■ Westville 14, Armstrong-Potomac 2. Jeffery Thompson had two hits, including a home run, and three RBI for the Tigers. Aaron Marx had three hits and two RBI. Kyle Brazas had two hits and one RBI.Tyler Dicken and Tristan Flynn had two RBI apiece. Dustin Nixon had one hit and one RBI for A-P. Christian Hunt had one RBI.

■ St. Joseph-Ogden 10, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 0. Tyler McCormick struck out 10 in a two-hit shutout for the Spartans. McCormick had two hits. Cole Berry was 3 for 3 with three RBI and two runs. Drew Schrodt and Jonah Wilson had a hit apiece for PBL.

■ Tri-County 6, Arcola 2. Luke Armstrong had four hits and one RBI for the Titans. Campbell Foster had three hits and three RBI. Justin Kuhns had two hits and one run for Arcola. Daniel Mendoza had one hit and one RBI. Wyatt Fishel had one hit and one run. Clayton Strader and Seth Still each had one hit.

■ Milford 11, Bismarck-Henning 0. Tanner Davenport struck out five in a one-hit shutout for the Bearcats. Davenport had one RBI. Kyle McNally had two RBI. Ryley Ward homered.

■ Salt Fork 12, Oakwood 0. Cole Taylor struck out 13 in a two-hit shutout for the Storm. Noah Darr, Colton Baird and Garrett McFadden homered.  

■ Clinton 5, Meridian 4. Trenten Fryman had two hits and a double for the Maroons. Josh Hickman was 2 for 3 with two RBI.

■ Sullivan 10, Tuscola 0. Nick Frerichs had two hits for the Redskins. Griffin Sullivan was 2 for 3. Dylan Hart homered. Nick Bates had two hits for the Warriors.

■ Herscher 3, Watseka 2. Caleb Parker had two hits, one run and one RBI for the Warriors. Cody Scott had two hits and one run. Nathan Nasers had one hit and one RBI.

■ Okaw Valley 2, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 0. Tyler Schuring struck out 11. Bradley Miller had one hit.

In softball
■ Monticello 10, Centennial 4. Allie Hislope had two hits, including a home run, and one RBI for the Sages. Megan Magsamen homered. Megan Taylor was 3 for 3 with three RBI. Lindsey Wyss was 2 for 3 with two runs and one RBI for the Chargers. Lexi Hall had two hits and one RBI. Kaity Wyss had two hits and one run.

■ Dwight 3, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 2. Breanna Walker struck out five for the Falcons. Walker had one hit. Sydney Vetter was 2 for 3 with one RBI.

■ LeRoy 9, Fisher 4. Hannah Bogle, Annika Kolic and Payton Risinger had two hits apiece for LeRoy. Emilee Schwing and Kelcie Fredrickson each had two hits for the Bunnies.

■ Salt Fork 18, Oakwood 0. Peyton Meade allowed one hit in the complete-game shutout for the Storm. Kalyn Learnard and Kylee Summers each homered twice. Lea Hall hit one home run.

■ Herscher 6, Watseka 0. Taylor Bauer struck out seven for the Warriors. Bauer, Devin Curry and Colleen Suchy had one hit apiece.

■ Urbana 7, Villa Grove/Heritage 4. Kiara Moses had three hits and three stolen bases for the Tigers. Krista Broom homered.

■ Bismarck-Henning 7, Milford 6. Phoenix Lacombe had one home run and four RBI for B-H. Brittany Ribbe had three hits and four stolen bases. Mindy Garrelts homered for the Bearcats.

■ Blue Ridge 10, Ridgeview 0. Blue Ridge’s Megan Tsevelekos struck out six in a two-hit shutout. Cheye Beres had two hits and two RBI. Taylor Builta was 2 for 3 with one RBI. Jessica Gilbert had two hits, two runs and one RBI.

■ Schlarman 12, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman 7. Rachel Wallis had four hits and eight RBI for Schlarman. Maisey Johnson had three hits and two RBI. Alexis Rangel had two hits and two runs. Joslyn Dietzen had three hits and one run. Lexi Sliva had two hits and two RBI for G-RF/C. Brittany Hay had one hit and three RBI.

In boys’ track & field
■ At Tuscola. Central won the Tuscola Invite (96.5 points). Mattoon (61.5) was the runner-up  and was followed by Tuscola (48).
Feli Keti finished third in the 110-meter hurdles for the Maroons (18.78 seconds) and won the 300-meter hurdles (43.96). Fraquan Gaines won the triple jump (41 feet, 1 inch). Tuscola’s Broc Smith won the 100-meter dash (11.25) and the 200-meter dash (22.39). Stephen Gibson finished first in the shot put (48-91/2) and the discus (141-0).
