MONTICELLO BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

The Sages won the 12-school Okaw Valley Conference meet by 30 points against Shelbyville. Teammates Carter Ness and Clay Becker went 1-2 in the 300-meter hurdles and joined Jesse Galaway and Josh Burton on the winning 1,600 relay. Daniel Welling won the high jump.

ST. THOMAS MORE BASEBALL

The Sabers (23-5) won all five games last week, led by Mike Plecki (14 for 19), Braxton Parisi (9 for 16) and Harrison York (6 for 15). Parisi, Plecki and York combined to drive in 28 runs for STM (12-1 in the conference). Plecki had two pitching wins, and Parisi had one.

PAXTON-BUCKLEY-LODA BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

The Panthers took team honors in the Sangamon Valley Conference meet after a 21-year drought. Vaughn Gentzler won two events, setting a record in the 300 hurdles. Tyler Rubarts broke the triple jump mark. Teammates Nick Porter and Jeremy Walder had one win apiece.

CHAMPAIGN CENTRAL BOYS’ TENNIS

The Maroons finished in third place at the Moline Invitational. Austin Aten won the No. 1 singles title. Central’s Michael Yoo and Cole Sloniger were second at No. 2 doubles. No Central singles or doubles entry lost more than one match on the day.
