Senior Luke Vaughn, from Centennial, set the Memphis men's track & field program record in the discus at the Crimson Tide Invitational last week. On his third attempt, Vaughn broke the 15-year-old school record with a throw of 200 feet, 2 inches. The former Charger currently hold the top marks in both the shot put and discus in the American Athletic Conference and is fourth overall in the discus in Division I. Memphis is participating in the Joe Walker Invitational at Oxford, Miss., this weekend.

Senior Nick Stokowski, from Monticello, picked up his second Great Lakes Valley Conferece Player of the Week honor on Tuesday after hitting .545 with two doubles, a home run and five RBI in four games last week. Going into the weekend, the Illinois-Springfield slugger leads the conference with a .435 batting average, .581 on-base percentage, .852 slugging percentage and 47 RBI along with being tied for first with 12 home runs. Currently ranked sixth in the latest NCBWA poll, the 27-4 Prairie Stars play a doubleheader starting at noon today at McKendree.

Graduate student Ryan Pearce, from Villa Grove, was named the Ohio Valley Conference men's field athlete of the week last week after his performance at the Eastern Illinois Big Blue Classic. Pearce posted a win in the discus with a throw of 168-9, and second-place finishes in the shot put (55-7) and javelin (164-2). His discus and shot put performances place him ninth in both events on the EIU career list. Eastern Illinois will take part in the Illinois Twilight meet that starts at 3 p.m. today in Champaign.

For the second consecutive week, senior Karly Goodman, from ALAH, dominated the weight division for the Illinois Wesleyan women's track & field team. At the Washington University Outdoor Invite two weeks ago, Goodman swept through the competition at the 12-team event, winning the hammer throw, javelin and shot put. She followed up the next week with multiple wins at the DePauw Invitational, setting season bests in the shot and javelin. Earlier in the outdoor season, Goodman shattered the Illinois Wesleyan hammer throw record with a throw of 168-6 at the Rhodes College Invitational, topping the old mark by over 11 feet. The Titans travel to Greenville today for the Greenville University Invitational.

Senior Matt Crook, from Monticello, was named the male Chili's Lindenwood Athlete for the month of March last week. Crook, who has started all 43 games for the Lindenwood-Belleville baseball squad, went 25 for 82 with three home runs and 23 RBI for the month. The catcher/designated hitter is currently hitting .311 and leads the Lynx with five home runs and 40 RBI. Lindenwood-Belleville is in Lawrenceville, Ga., for a weekend series with Georgia Gwinnett College.

Sophomore Dylan Dodd, from Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, has started each of Kankakee Community College's first 30 games. Dodd is hitting .341 with 28 runs scored, 27 walks and a .979 OPS. Dodd has also made three appearances on the mound, going 3-1 with 26 strikeouts in 221 / 3 innings. The 23-7 Cavaliers host Madison College at noon today in a single game.

Freshman Shaylee Clow, from LeRoy, has started 16 games for Kishwaukee College. Clow leads the Kougars with a .368 batting average, .478 on-base percentage, .579 slugging percentage, 10 runs, 14 hits, and two triples. Kishwaukee continues Arrowhead Athletic Conference play today when they travel to Madison, Wis. to face Madison College in a doubleheader starting today at noon.
